    mash is very bitter

    I forgot to add the 5.2 to the grain before mash in so I mixed in about 20 min. later. Now I have full conversion but the mash is very bitter/ acid. should I just hope for the best? THANKS

    Is this safe for starter?

    This is left over wort from a batch I did 2 weeks ago. It came straight from the kettle, cooled and right to my fridge. Can I use it for my starter? It smells sweet (not a bad smell)

    beer too bitter

    I've successfully brewed my first batch of beer in 12 years but seeing that I added 3 oz's of boiling hops (fuggles) for a 12 gal batch - the beer has a quite bitter finish. I was thinking of filtering it with my plate, wine filter..would that tone the bitterness down? Thanks
