    Campden Tablet question

    I used one campden tb to stop fermentation. That was 3 days ago and its still fermenting away. Can I use another tab in the same batch without any ill effects or is there a better way to stop fermentation ?

    10 degree temp changes

    Right now I'm getting 10 degree swings in temps from day to night. Ranges are 64 - 74 degrees. Will this effect the outcome of my cider? It continues to ferment at all temps though it does slow down at the cooler temps.

    Is there any difference between the Better Bottle and a 5 gallon plastic water bottle. Would it be safe to use these as carboys ?

    This may be a dumb question... but

    I just started a batch of cider the other day. It has started to ferment but has big bubbles on the surface with what looks like powdered sugar on them. Has anyone ever experienced bubbles that look like this. Thanks in advance.
