    Kegerator Cleaning Help

Hi guys, Jeez, been awhile since i've posted on here. How is everyone? Anyway, for my birthday on Friday, my girlfriend was gracious enough to buy me a used kegerator (Haier HBF05EABB) off of a friend. It's been sitting in his garage for quite awhile, and the cosmetic cleaning was easy...

    Plans for the Spring season?

My goal for this "Season" is consistency. I've yet to brew the same thing twice, always trying for new and interested recipes. Now, i've formulated a nice, easy, low gravity session British style pale ale i plan to brew multiple times. This way, i've have a tasty pale ale all the time, and i...

    Leaks

So naturally, leaks will happen. I have very slow leaks in both my mashtun (10 gal Igloo cooler with ball valve etc) and brew kettle (ten gal stainless with ball valve etc.) Now here's my question...i bought high temp teflon tape to seal up the mash tun, but is it ok to use it on the INSIDE...

    Too long?

On October 22nd of 08, i brewed my first all grain, a double IPA. It's 9.5% Abv. It was in the Primary for about 5 days, and then i racked it into the carboy onto some whole leaf chinook and cascades. It's been sitting ever since. I havent touched it due to, well, laziness. It looks fine, lots...

    Missed my Mash temp, RDWHAHB?

Supposed to mash at 154, hit 150 and now it's down to 146 with 40 minutes to go, not really any room to add any more hot water. Meh?

    First AG...critique recipe please

Ok, so, my wort chiller arrived today. All i need is some 5.2 and a Propane tank and i'm good to go. SO, i've made my recipe for my inaugural AG brew, utilizing those Cascade hops one of my customers grows and allowed me to pick (see thread: I Got Lucky...) A critique of this would be...

    Chicago water...PH Stabilizer?

So i'm almost ready to do my first all grain...got my MLT, 10 gallon pot, burner, etc. Picked up some PH test strips to check my water, and Brewsmith has a Chicago water profile. My test came out to be about 8.2, which sounds about right...very hard water. Now, i know that the natural...

    I got lucky

So, i'm a beer expert a fine liquor store, right? One day some guy comes in, and we chat about beer for awhile. I mention i brew. He says "Oh you should drop by and pick the hops in my backyard. My wife thought they looked neat, so we have a lot." I then forget about it entirely until i realized...

    75 qt cooler...too big?

My father purchased a 75qt Rubbermaid rectangular cooler for our family reunion over the weekend, and then offered to give it to me for my brewing (score!) However, after an hour of scouring the net for mash tun info, it seems everyone goes with 48 qt coolers. My question is, is this beast...

    Three Floyds Blackheart English IPA

Well, it's fantastic. I think it's their most well balanced beer they've done, especially for an IPA. Go buy a bottle.

    Anyone order beer online?

http://bottletrek.com and http://www.liquidsolutions.biz have both just come to my attention on a vintage synth forum, and i'm wondering if anyone has tried it. I'm very tempted, because it means i'll finally be able to try some Stone beers.

    Victory Brewing and Headaches

So a few months ago, i tried the HopDevil. I liked it a lot, but found it slightly astringent. I had 2, and ended up with the most massive, pulsing headache. Last month, i tried the Golden Monkey, which was a fantastic golden ale in the Belgian style. I had 1, and ended up with a massive...

    Couple questions

1: How safe is it to actually touch Straight-A cleanser? I mean, i wanna reach in with a sponge and go to town for cleaning, but it made my hands feel slippery. 2: How about Iodophor? I used the one tbsp. to 5 gallons of water, and some of the stuff wasnt 100% dry when it was time to move the...
