    Scarborough Fair recipe

Hey, OK, I'll admit I'm playing off a Simon and Garfunkel tune, but I'm working on an English style oatmeal stout using the "fab four" (parsley, sage, rosemary, and thyme). I've done some experimenting with the herbs and oats and I think they may can be made to play nicely together. Anybody ever...

Anybody ever used rum with their recipe?

I searched the database but got no hits, so I'm curious. Anybody experimented with rum in a beer recipe? I've done a couple of bourbon ales (Hell, I'm a KY boy...we put bourbon in everything!) but wondered if anybody had tried using either domestic, imported, or spiced rum in a recipe. Anyone...

    Lil help for the noob!

Ok, mixed up a batch of Pumpkin Ale, using a Wyeast smack-pack. Bubbled like crazy for about 3 days then quit. Left it alone for the rest of the week, then went ahead & racked to secondary. My OG was about 1.045, & when I tested @ transfer was 1.012, but is really cloudy. (i got same reading 3...

    Yeast advice needed!

Hey, folks! A couple of times now I've needed a little extra yeast to kick-start a lazy batch & have just ordered extra of whatever strain the recipe called for. But I was wondering if there was a particular, somewhat neutral strain if dry yeast (both ale & lager) that I could order to store in...

    Keg type question

Yo, all! I've had a kegger for awhile now that uses Sanke connectors for my commercial kegs. I've always bottled my homebrew, but I've discovered some recipes I really like and am wanting to switch some of the Sanke taps over to handle hombrew kegs (or maybe just add HB kegs to the kegger)...

    Blue Beer Bottle Supplier

Hey, y'all! I'm looking for a US supplier of cobalt blue beer bottles. NOT the wire bail, EZ type but the regular old capper type. I've found a couple of Chinese companies that have them, but you have to buy massive quantities, have them picked up at a sea port (not many of them in KY!)or pay...

    Old School Recipe Wanted

OK, about to date myself here, but back in the 70's the real "King of Beers" in retail America was Stroh's fire brewed. While similar to Bud and Miller, it had a very distinctive flavor. The company went bankrupt in the late 70's-early 80's. Miller bought the patent, then released it a few years...

    Help a newby out!

Hey, Y'all! Howdy from the Bluegrass State! There's only 3 things we know about here: Fast horses, wild women, and basketball! But this west KY boy is looking to start makin his own brew (not moonshine....KY boy got that covered! LOL) Been a beer lover since back in the old Stroh's era (when it...
