How bad can it be ?

Mis-dated my fermenting bucket. I have a northern brewers cream ale. Supposed to ferment 2 weeks. Took it out after 10 days and started cold crashing it. Is the worst I can expect is a lower ABV ? Any point in letting it warm back up ?

    BM23 Question

I picked up a BM23 yesterday. The compressor fan runs and the inside fan runs. this thing has not been used or turned on in a year. Based on the numbers on the Tecumseh compressor, it appears to have been made in 2001. I plan on letting it sit for a good day or so before firing it up again after...

i saw an AG recipe i liked and modified it for extract. not sure if i have done this right or not, but in the end I am looking for a 2xipa. I like citra, though the only time i have ever used it so far is to add an ounce in the last 10 min if a crem ale recipe ( turned out great btw !)...

Beer too dark. Late addittion of lme

I all. Am fairly new to brewing. Have about 9 or so batches under my belt, all extract. Regardless of style, all of my batches seem to come out much darker than they should, when I compare them to images of the same style beers posted here or elsewhere online. I stir constantly when brewing, and...

    Score !

Got this for $40 today. Not sure who the mfgr of the burner is. Tank is about half full too. Adjustable flame. Came with a couple of clam pots that I don't need too. Seems to work pretty well.

Missed OG by a country mile

Hi all, I brewed a NB cream aLe extract kit today. Actually I used their recipe, but picked up ingredients at my local store. It called for 6 lbs of Pilsen LME, and steeping grains of .75 lbs of honey malt and .25 lbs of Belgian biscuit. Steep the grains for 20 min and boil LME for 60 minutes...

    Lorann oils

Have seen a few posts on this product. For anyone that has actually used it, is a whole dram of watermelon oil going to be sicky sweet in a 5 gal batch ? Am looking for only a hint of flavor. What about other oils of theirs ? Are some more potent than others ?

    Cream ale.. Omg

So I brewed a NB cream ale a couple weeks ago. Thought I'd jazz it a little with some Citra at the end of the boil. Perhaps it was a bit much. Tasted my FG vial today and it seems I created a Cream IPA. Hahahahahahahaha ! Love that I can still consume my experiments !

I think this is just yeast floaties. You ?

This is a couple days shy of three weeks in primary. It is this recipe: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f75/belgian-strawberry-blonde-evil-charlies-dog-drool-244157/ Bubbles tell me it's got a ways to go yet, but do the floaties look like yeast to you ? I have only a couple extract kits under my...

    First Pour !

My son asked me to get into this hobby with him. Great way to bond. Our first batch is a BB Irish Stout. Although its not really ready yet, we decided to open a bottle 10 days after bottling it. The result was delicious. Will be leaving this set for awhile longer now to get even better. Since...

    Thank you

Just wanted to thank you all for your help thus far. Lasts night was my first bottling experience. My son, who prodded me into this hobby, couldn't be there as it is his last week at college so my SWMBO willingly stepped in and capped while I filled (what a gal !) Other than a couple of minor...

    Hypothetical question on FG

I have a brewers best Irish stout in the primary for what will be three weeks come Saturday. I am going to take FG readings starting tomorrow. The FG Is supposed to be 1.011-1.014. My question is what if it is still above that range a bit ? OG was on the high end - 1.050, but still within the...

    Question on yeast

Am reading John Palmers book. In the early section on yeast, he mentions that it is common to use 1 or 2 packets of dried yeast in a 5 gallon batch. What is the benefit of the second packet ? Am a noob, so if the answer is obvious, please forgive me... Doug

    Airlock leak

Put together a batch of wheat beer tonight. I put vodka in the airlock. Had to move the bucket and the vodka drained into the bucket. Am guessing this is not too much of a problem, right ? How can I prevent this in the future ? I may need to move this thing one more time tomorrow. As...

    Hello ! And a question ..

Hi all. Brand new here. Trying to learn. My son asked me if I would home brew with him, so here I am. We bought the Brewers Best Irish Stout kit as well, as we love dark beer and are having a ball doing this. We started the batch on 4/29 and had bubbles in the airlock after 24 hrs at a rate...
