    Monster IPA OG/FG question...

Brewed a huge IPA one week ago. OG was 1.130, pitch a starter that I stepped from 500ml to 1000ml on a stirplate, used WLP001. Heavily aerated. It has been one week. Still bubbling once every 5 seconds. Took a hydrometer reading tonight, still at 1.050. Temps range from 62 to 66F degrees Dry...

    Troubles with corn sugar/invert syrup

I used to brew with extract kits, but I have recently gotten into all grain. I am 6 batches into AG brewing. Along my brewing adventures, I have added invert sugar syrup to my boils. The inversion calls for 8 lbs of table sugar, 2 pints of water and 3 tsps of citric acid. I then use water to...

    7 ounce bottles?

Does anyone know where I can buy them online? My LHBS owner doesn't supply them, and can't seem to get hold of them either. I don't care about color, just as long as they aren't threaded or "paint labeled" like Coronita bottles.

    Tripel stopped carbonating

I recently bottled a batch of tripel. Used wlp500 for the batch. The recipe called for 1 1/4 cup wheat DME for a primer, so I boiled a solution. I bottled on October 30th, it is now November 20th. I just cracked open a bottle and there is hardly any of the foggy co2 gas normally released when...

Blueberry Moon (blue moon clone) question

Gonna be doing an AG Blue Moon clone, looking to achieve a very well pronouned blueberry flavor that balances out with the sweetness of blue moon. I've never made any beers with fruit, nor have I ever made a hefeweizen...so it'll be interesting to see how this turns out. I'm here on this this...

Priming with wheat DME and MD

I recently brewed a Piraat clone, and it came out way too dry with hardly any sweetness. OG was 1.076, FG was 1.010. Piraat is recognized for being on the sweet side. Since the fermentation has already completed, I'm about to throw it into the secondary to let it condition. After that, bottling...

Using wheat DME and maltodextrin to bottle??

I recently brewed a Piraat clone, and it came out way too dry with hardly any sweetness. OG was 1.076, FG was 1.010. Piraat is recognized for being on the sweet side. Piraat clone mistake..

So i followed this recipe to the letter, here is the link: https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f12/piraat-clone-48910/ Problem is I had a really low starting gravity - about 1.076. I believe it should have been much higher, around 1.104 and dried its way down to about 1.0244, leaving the expected...

    Never-ending fermentation. Hmm... need help.

I did my first AG brew about a month or so ago. I had previously done just extract kits, but decided to step it up. Did a double IPA with an OG of 1.083, and used WLP090 San Diego Super Yeast. It was was my first time using a liquid culture, and I did not use a starter because I didn't have one...

    Bitterness

Bout to start my first batch. I have been reading about thw process, I bought the Homebrewing for Dummies (I'm no dummy!) I'm just hyper.I have paid close attention to the so-far read detail. Gonna aim for a simple IPA, as I bought one of those Brewer's Best IPA kits. Not too sure what to expect...
