    Chocolate question.

I plan on attempting a Mocha Stout sometime in the near future and a Peppermint Chocolate Stout for around Christmas and was wondering which would you suggest; adding unsweetened bakers chocolate or adding cocoa powder to the end of the boil? I've heard these are both good ways to get that...

Need Info On Briess Cherrywood Smoked Malt

Anyone know where I can get the yeild %, the CFD %, the protein % and the moisture % for Cherrywood Smoked Malt? I've looked everywhere. I'm trying to plug it into Beersmith because they don't have the malt available.

    Question about using SMOKED grains/malt.

How much is too much? I'm thinking of taking your really basic Porter recipe and adding some Briess Cherrywood Smoked Malt from Northern Brewer as seen here: http://www.northernbrewer.com/shop/brewing/brewing-ingredients/grain-malts/briess-cherrywood-smoked-malt.html The description says...

    Everything is better with Bacon...EVERYTHING!

Hey all, About the 2nd weekend in March, a good friend and fellow hombrewer of mine are getting together to brew some maple, bacon beer. We've decided that each of us will start with your basic Porter, then do different things in the secondary and at bottling to give us the flavors we...

    Question about grains

How long are they good for? I am brewing a Urca Vanilla Porter tomorrow (Partial mash) so I ran down to my local brew store to buy some extra equipment. I had a question about a Cream Ale extract kit the owner did in a beginners class a week or so back. Him and I got to talking, one thing...

I could just be paranoid but...

So I completely forgot to put an airlock on my primary after it was done fermenting...Is this a problem? I'm racking the beer to the secondary Saturday night and then FOR SURE I'll have the airlock on it. I've had the blow-off tube attached and in a water jug so I don't think anything could go...

    Lemon Ale?

I'm thinking about a couple beers I want to brew for this summer and I thought maybe a Blonde Lemon ale or lager would be good. Problem is; I don't know how to get that lemon flavor. What would you suggest? Adding Lemon juice/zest to the primary or secondary? Fermenting the beer on actual...

    Beer's a little sweet...

Just cracked open a bottle of my Dark Ale. Has a great head, nice color but it's more sweet than I would have guessed. It's a Coopers Australian Dark Ale kit so I basically boiled water to make it; I didn't add anything extra. Is that how all kit beers are or did I do something to give it that...

    Ok, bare with me here....

So I want to try and brew a Smoked Cherry Porter. Problem is, I'm kinda stuck on how to go about this. I want to do more than just brew a smoked porter and add cherry extract. If at all possible, I want to stay away from the cherry extract entirely but so far I can't find a way to do that...

    Chocolate Milk Stout

Brewed a Chocolate Milk Stout from Northern Brewer the otherday. This was the first time I used actual grains and hops, I've only done straight extract kits until this weekend. It smelt AMAZING too. Anyway, I was wondering if any of you have tried a Chocolate Milk Stout or a chocolate beer in...
