    Distance between HLT and Mash turn

    Attempting my second batch doing all grain and I have a question on my set up. I put together a brew stand(janky but should work). Is there a rule of thumb for the distance between the HLT and mash tun? I ask because they are real close. Using two igloos with a spare arm. Thanks!

    Fountain pumps?

    Been slowly upgrading my all grain setup and I recently came across some fountain(pop/soda) pumps through my work. Does anyone use fountain pumps when brewing? These pumps operated with CO2 but can work with forced air. I know I'll have a ton of cleaning to do but free is free!
