ur kinda goin overkill with 4-6 gauge wire... 8 gauge would be sufficient for a 50 amp breaker. i certainly wouldn't use 4 gauge.

some people have trouble with the braid collapsing and resulting in a stuck mash. u could simply put a small piece of copper pipe inside of the braid to keep it from collapsing. the "easiest" route...
