I started with a round cooler and false bottom. In total it cost me about $65 (put the mash run cooler together myself). I batch sparge and am pretty happy with the results. You could also go BIAB.

I'm using 3724 right now. No starter and within 10 hours had a nice krausen formed. I'm going to ramp the temp up to 90 over the next few days and let it sit for 2-3 weeks.

Hop Shot

Quick question about using hop shots. If each shot is good for approximately 10 IBUs per 5 gallons of wort could I simply use the hop shots in place of my FWH and 60 minute additions? My assumption...

I use to freak out about infections and a friend told me is know when it was infected rather than question it...well, he was right. If you get an infected batch you will know from the look and smell.

When I increase the pressure to the keg my psi goes up slowly. Given that when u pull the relief valve on top of the keg you hear co2 coming out...your line is not block. The regulator may be bad...

I add the grinds to the boil during the last 5 minutes...when I whirlpool they are right there in the middle after I transfer to the primary.
