I make a fresh 2.5 gallon batch for every brew and use it until I'm ready to do a full brew again. I've had the same bottle of Starsan for many years now so I don't worry about wasting it.

Thoroughly wash those bottles, use a Jet bottle washer to rinse, and then starsan before refilling.

I've always found the Jet washer the best way to clean bottles, but I'd want some cleanser if...

I agree, use Starsan as the final step. It does say the Easyclean has bleach though, so maybe it is good enough? I don't know. I keep a bucket of starsan and toss everything in it before I use it....

I always brew in the early morning, so I'm not having a homebrew. But for the later steps after fermentation I usually have one in hand.

It always took more time than I cared to spend, usually 2-3 hours. I switched to kegging. But, it took me almost 2 hours just the other day to keg my batch, from cleaning the keg thoroughly,...

I keg after a 2 week primary. I cold crashed the primary before I kegged to get the yeast/trub to settle, and then leave as much behind as possible. Then I lager in the keg. There will always be a...

I'll say the opposite. I've never had a brew that didn't show activity. If it isn't giving off gas it isn't active. The only other possibility is that the fermenter isn't well sealed. My latest...

I ultimately decided to just keg the whole batch. It was getting late and the thought of doing it all over again for the second half of the batch just didn't appeal to me. I was going to dry hop...

Best way to purge a half full keg of air?

I'm going to put a half a batch into a corny and was just wondering the best way to purge the headspace. With a full keg, no problem, just shoot CO2 in 3 or 4 times and release. For a larger space...

It has been 12 days since first pitching. On day 7 I turned the temp up from 45 to 48, still pretty cold. On day 9 I took a reading and it was at 1.025, but still steadily fermenting at 48. On day...

I started using mine as a computer fan too. When it isn't being used as a stir plate I have it up against a vent in my old iMac. The GPU keeps overheating while watching video. I can hear the...

No sarcasm intended. A freshly tapped keg frequently foams.

If maybe the OP is talking about the first pour each day, then it is a problem.

Definitely do a D-rest now. It'll lower the gravity, and you'll otherwise have Diacetyl in your beer.

In the meantime, my 2124 pilsner is happily bubbling away at 44℉. I made a big starter with my re-used yeast. It's a shame the OP didn't live in the NYC area, I had plenty of yeast.

Citra dry hop in a Pils?

I've got 5.5 gallons of Pilsner fermenting away right now in my fridge, but I'm thinking I'd like to try something different with it. The recipe is:

9.5lbs German Pils 2-row
1 lb Cara-pils
.25...

You could try raising the temp a degree or two or three.

Also, what was the date on the yeast? Was it fresh? If not, you have even less than you thought.

You can try to make a quick starter...

I make a large starter with that yeast and pitch cold, around 44-45. 2 packs for 10 gallons just isn't enough.

That's not the first time I've seen Wyeast auto-corrected to Wheats.
