All New Belgium beers have a similar, disctinctive note that probably comes from the yeast they use, so if you don't like that, you may not like all their beers....

We lost our hops too - it looks like they were sprayed with weed killer so they definitely WON'T be coming back, not even next year. I feel ya - it sucks. :(

Do you have a bottle washer (the one that you hook up to the faucet)? Soaking them first in Oxyclean and then using the bottle washer with hot water should do it, but if not, the boil idea is good...
