I just added four ounces of each grain to my order and used a cup of that for the starter. Just used a kitchen sieve to filter the liquid from the grain.

I have nothing. Including knowledge of refrigerators. I unplugged it for a while then plugged it back in. Got a very faint hum and some clicking. Didn't cool at all. I'm unplugging it for the night.

So. Yeah. Maybe I just put 1.5 oz of cracked peppercorn in my wort instead of 1.5 tsp. Oops. Gonna try to filter it out when I our it into the fermentor. Crap.

Bottle it and drink it. Make more. My first batch is halfway spent but I have 10 more gallons coming down the pipe. Some of that will be aged properly, but I'm enjoying my first batch in the meantime.

I have never had a bottle bomb in 6 years of brewing. I let my beer ferment completely and then prime with 4.5 oz corn sugar. At one point I was using DME to prime. Never had any problems.
