Keeping mine in the detached garage has made it maybe a little less tempting. Are you worried from the standpoint of calories, addiction, or having/getting to brew more frequently?

Rescued a too-low OG SMaSH

I had a batch recently where I missed my OG by a mile (off by .015! Bad crush, I think), and I didn't have time to boil it down to a proper concentration. I pitched yeast anyway, but when I sampled a...

My first several BIAB batches were kinda lame compared to my extract beers. I really needed to calibrate my thermometer and crush a lot finer. I use a Corona and grind almost to flour. But yeah,...

Did I ruin my 1st batch? A story

It will be more bitter than you were expecting -- but hey, it's an IPA! Probably the best bet would have been to reduce your boil time to maybe 30 minutes, to keep the bitterness in check, but I...

Adding small amounts of salts to the finished product as an experiment?

Ah, ok. Your error is just in the last bit: 1 mg per ml is around 1000 ppm. (1 mg per LITER would be 1 ppm)

Wait until the initial fermentation has subsided, usually around a week. Really, you want to plan backwards from when you want to bottle/keg it, so if you have two five-day dry hops, start 10 days...

I always drink a cup of wort after the mash and before the boil, and the tastiest ones (to me) always are the dark ones: stouts and porters. I'd think you'd get good results from a darker wort with...

For lighter colored beers, I've started adding 2-3 oz of sauermalz to the grist, just to drop the pH a bit, but it's not a requirement by any means. It does seem to help my efficiency a little.

Adding small amounts of salts to the finished product as an experiment?

No way... A tablespoon is 4 thousandths of a gallon, so a tablespoon of salt in 5 gallons of beer would be around 8 ten-thousandths, or 800 ppm. This would be considered "brackish water" and would...

My favorite style to brew is essentially a very hoppy pale ale. About 5-6% ABV, only about 50-60 IBUs, but nearly all of them through late additions or hop steeps. Plenty of dry hopping as well. So...

What did I brew? (My second beer I've made)

I'd say it's closest to 6D, American Wheat Ale. (Sorry, there's no BJCP style for Canadian Wheat!)

Best deals on used ball lock kegs?

Adventures in Homebrewing and Keg Connection are two of the better vendors, IMO.
