This is what I'm going to brew when my mesquite pods arrive. Any thoughts working with these ingredients?

how did this turn out? I just smoked some 2 row with some mesquite and im looking for a good recipe to use it in.

The aroma as this was boiling was just fantastic. I didn't hit my SG and that could have been for two reasons that I know of.

1. My 36 qt mash tun cooler works perfect for 10 gallon batches. This was my first time doing 5 in it. Maybe too much dead space? Still kept 155 F for 90 minute mash though.
2. The mesquite pods didn't form quite the "grain cake" with the other grains, so my sparge water wasn't above the grain bed. Everything just floated up, so maybe it wasn't compact enough.

Nevertheless, I calculated enough LME to add to bring it up to 1.052.

Color is awesome, smell is awesome. Can't wait for this to be ready

my final gravity was on 1.014, higher than my normal 1.003-1.007 (i use amylase to get lower FGs). tasting the sample was decent. I won't know for sure until it's properly aged in the keg for another month. I may sample in the next few weeks. But I never see the full potential until it's aged a bit. I had one hefe that was OK (like american hefs) but 3 months later it was bomb.

i forgot to respond to this. It was AWESOME, just ran out of it last month. Gotta make more!
