i am thinking about doing some experimenting with wine flavorings in small gallon sized batches, but i do not want to buy a couple different carboys. would using something like the gallon plastic jugs that juice comes in work for a secondary if i wash it out well?

Probably not the best choice. You should start collecting 1-gallon glass jugs. Buy some apple cider or even a Gallo jug wine or simply ask some friends. I have 15-20 and quit saving them several years ago.

ok...thanks for the help. i figured that glass would be better but plastic would be cheaper. well i guess it is time to go find some glass bottles.

thanks
