Beer of The Month Clubs

Hey, I looked around the site a bit but could not find much input on the topic. I was looking to give my brother a beer of the month membership for christmas but everything I was seeing online seemed pretty expensive, $35/month for 12 beers...
Just wanted to see if anyone on here subscribes to any of these and if anyone has opinions or favorites.

Perhaps you could just get him a nice gift certificate for a local bottleshop?

Funny you should mention these ... My wife was looking at those as a birthday gift for me ... and we stumbled into the homebrewing sites through those. Much happier this way!
