I'm getting ready to dry hop a IPA with some plugs using a hop sack...

Do I have to sterilize the hop sack, and if so how do I do it? boil, star san or both.

Also, does it matter how long I dry hop the secondary...If I can't get to it for a few weeks, does it affect the hop flavor or anything?

Thanks

Yes sanitize the bag but not the hops. I wouldn't ever go over 2 weeks with dry hopping. It can lead to grassiness...

is there anyting wrong with racking to the secondary, then 1 week before kegging, then dry hop it, instead of doing it when I first transfer it.

I'm out of kegs so I can't go straight to the keg.

No problems, but that's a lot of movement in my mind. Why not just keep in primary, then when you transfer to the keg add your hop sack to the keg? Just a thought.
