Bummer. I'm about 20 minutes from Woodland, and the in-laws live in Davis.I just called certified foods they no longer sell malted barley.
I'm at least a month out on my build. But after that, I'd be down with making the drive in my little truck, even the 3/4 ton if there is that much action. We should start one.. maybe one of us can make a trip to more beer and save a lil..

"Hello Dale,
Thanks for your question. We have an entire section devoted to home brewing! We have barley malt, in whole grain and in liquid malt extract, as well as specialty grains and adjuncts. We have hops, yeast, sugar, sanitizer, tools and equipment, carboys and bottles. We are running low on a few items currently, but we will get a delivery very soon. Let me know if you have other questions. Visit our store and say hello!

I'm planning to go to More Beer in Concord during spring break. They have some sweet prices on bulk base malts. I think last I checked their great western was $35 for 50lb sack. Hit me up if you want anything.
That's wear I normally go but even their cheapest bag is still $10 more than More Beers prices. Its a good place to go when you run out if something but I prefer to buy in bulk.

I called morebeer in Concord and their current prices for 50 pound sacks of base malts are:
Great western 2-row: $35
Rahr 2-row: $44
American Pale 2-row: $35
Maris Otter: $62
I have an SUV that can carry four comfortably and (hopefully) 8 sacks of grain in the back. I'm planning on making the trip on 8/25. I'd like to let them know ahead of time what to set aside, so please everyone, let me know what you want.
