1/4 MFL thread

Is the 1/4" MFL thread on a corny quick release the same as a tire valve thread??

The reason I'm asking is, I'm planning on carbonating naturally and then using a co2 inflator for dispensing, at least until I can drop more coin on the rest of the CO2 system.

I have a co2 tire inflator but I see that they also sell one by the same company that states it is for Cornelius kegs. I'm guessing that the thread is the same but that unit comes with one or two food grade co2 12g tanks while mine came with reg co2.

Also, how imparitive is it to use food grade co2?

No, but I've seen people put tire valves on kegs and plastic bottles.
