Hey all. Been a while since I posted (No time to brew lately), but I would love some feedback on a recipe I have concocted.

I tried to base this on an oatmeal stout, but replaced the oats with wild rice.

Type: Extract
Batch Size (fermenter): 5.00 gallon
Ingredients:

Ingredients:
1 lbs Rice, Wild (1.0 SRM) Grain 1 12.1 %
8.0 oz Chocolate Malt (350.0 SRM) Grain 2 6.1 %
1.00 oz Nugget [13.00 %] - Boil 60.0 min Hop 6 26.5 IBUs
8.0 oz Roasted Barley (300.0 SRM) Grain 3 6.1 %
4.0 oz Black (Patent) Malt (500.0 SRM) Grain 4 3.0 %
6 lbs Dark Dry Extract (17.5 SRM)

Yeast:
WLP002 -English Ale

A few questions I had were:

-Would adding oatmeal to this as well do anything for it?
-Will the dark malts over power the flavors from the rice?

Any feedback or tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks as always!

Answers IMHO:

1. Yes, add to mouth feel and head retention.

B. You will probably notice more malt flavor and the rice will be somewhat overshadowed.

Did you ever give it a try? I have a stock of WR that is begging to be mashed into beer.
