Anyone ever add spices to a Dunkelweizen? Was thinking cinnamon, nutmeg, or something? Thoughts....

Randy Mosher has a recipe in Radical Brewing for a Dunkel Weizenbock, so pretty similar. He adds allspice, star anise, caraway, orange peel, and candied ginger. I've never made it though, but it sounds interesting.

I have never heard of adding spices to a dunkel.. but thats why homebrewing is awsome.. you can make something no one has ever done before.

I would suggest looking for a Christmas Ale recipe.. see how much and what kind of spices they add, then add that to a standard Dunkel.

Keep us posted on how it turns out
