Hello everyone. I am looking to brew this weekend and wanted to try a Hefeweizen for the first time but my LHBS is all out of all wheat grains for a few weeks :( So in general I am looking to try another type of a summery beer that does not require wheat grain. Personally I do no care for very hoppy beer. I am more malty myself but I don't mind mild hops. So if anyone would be willing to share a yummy tasting recipe I am open to trying it. And I am an all grain brewer making 5 gallons. Thank you all in advance.

Look in the recipe section for Scottish and/or Irish ales. They are malty, require no wheat and are quick and easy to brew. I'd post a recipe, but I'm pressed for time and don't have any on this laptop.

Short answer: yes, though they still can be quite hoppy. It all depends on how you build your recipe.
