Issue with my Sterling Hops; help me identify and fix please!

All my girls are healthy and happy except my Sterlings. They seem to have a nutrition problem or perhaps a disease. Please look at the pix and help me identify and fix. I think my wife may have over watered them as I have them in great soil and have fertilized them:

BTW I have Columbus, Mt Hood, Nugget, and Williamette in the same hop bed with these and none of the others have this "rust" issue...
 
My Sterling hops are dead. It was agonizing watching them slowly wither and the bine turn brown. I pulled up and inspected the rhyzome and roots. No sign of insects and there were rootlets, but alas the plants didn't make it. Fearing disease, I tossed it in the compost bin and will try again next season. Perhaps this time I will go with a crown or whole plant versus a rhyzome...
