I have searched the forum and found some information regarding scotch ale yeast temps. I guess my question really lies in what yeast to choose. i don't have a lot of control over temperature. Currently in my basement I can probably ferment in the mid 60s. I get the whole "to style, not to style" if you use certain yeasts. I am just looking to find out what people think my options are. I just want a tasty beer at the end of the day and have never really dabbled in scotch ales.

Wyeast Scottish ale yeast 1728 might be a good choice but you'll definitely want to keep it in the low- to mid-60s for the duration (keep your beer in that range, that is)

You mean 1728, but I agree.

I've got a wee heavy I brewed with this I just bottled after 6 weeks ferment in my basement at 64.

Lovely, clean flavor & cleaned up nicely
