I've never made a barley wine and I am drinking a "Hog Heaven" (Hog Heaven Barley Wine - Avery Brewing Company - BeerAdvocate) barley wine right now - first time ever drinking one too...
My birthday is March 5th and I think it would be cool to brew a barley wine on the 5th to drink next year (since it seems most barley wines need a year to age)
From what I read you brew it just like any other beer, and ferment it like any other beer....
So who's got a favorite barley wine recipie that would be a great B-day Barley wine? Any tricks or tips I need to know?
