I love my Maris Otter. It adds a nice depth of character to british pale ales.
It occurred to me though that I have never actually heard of any british brewery actually using it. They always use some standard british pale ale malt, rarely will they list the cultivar, and if they know the cultivar, it is never maris otter...
So, prove me wrong.. Is maris otter only purchased by home brewers and small breweries / brew pubs? I am sure not.. but can anybody recall of commercial brewers that actually use the damned thing?
