Brewed my Blonde Ale today, one week later than I expected. The full, detailed log is here: September 13, 2008 Bërnerbräu Blonde Ale

Unfortunately my web server seems a smidge slow today so the pictures aren't loading fast. In any case, I hit an OG of 1.032 which was 18 points below target :(

The color in the hydro sample, though, was phenomenal.

As usual, any and all feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Not sure how you got such low OG with 5lbs of DME, did you overfill the wort with water or perhaps layering?
Otherwise, once all the finally loaded everything looked pretty good.

Looks like a pretty successful brew day.

You should definitely find a better way to chill your wort. I use a big rubbermaid container I just fill with water and 2 big bags of ice. Gets it nice and cool in under 20.

Yeah, I'm almost positive I just didn't mix it well enough before taking the hydro sample and the water and wort were still kind of layered.

I'm thinking I'm gonna build my wort chiller before my next batch.
