Hey,
I live in Denver, planted 4 rhizomes last year - 2 Cascades, a Galena and a Mt Hood. The Galenda did gangbusters, relatively, during the 1st year. The Mt. Hood, not so much and the Cascades were the same. As of about a week ago, the Galena is blowing up out there. It's already 2 or so ft off the ground. The Mt Hood is also alive and thriving. But, no sign of anything from the Cascades. How do I know if they're dead? I fear I may have missed my window to get replacement rhizomes, but if not, I'd like to get something new in the ground before I miss out on the growing season. Is it normal that some varieties would take off sooner than others? Is there a maneuver I can do to verify if my Cascades are still alive and kicking?
Thanks!
