After 4 days of gloomy dark skies, 20+ inches of rain and wind gusts from 35-40mph, the sun is shining once again.
Battered and torn, the inaugural swamp cascades have survived the brutality of tropical storm Debby... slightly worse for wear. Some cones have been lost and one string line snapped but, the girls have weathered the squall.
It was touch and go for a bit, leading me to believe this year was all for not. Those leaves should have been ripped from the bine with gross ferocity. Both plants held fast and impressed the H E double hockey sticks outta me.
If anyone ever believed hops cannot make it in FLA, I beg to differ.
