The bad is that they are only 5 gallons so you will have no headspace on a standard size batch, you will have to rig up some sort of airlock, and will still need to rack off the yeast. The good is that they are easy to move even when full, relatively easy to clean, dry hopping in a hop bag is much easier, and you could use CO2 to rack into another keg with relative ease. That's it off the top of my head...personally its not something I'm interested in doing. However when I want a naturally carbed beer I will sometimes rack a little early and let the beer finish up in a keg using an adjustable pressure relief valve I can dial into the proper CO2 level for the style.
