    pH Affecting Hop Flavor?

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I use a method very similar to JeffoC6's, and I'm essentially having the same problem. Have either of you been able to solve it since you last posted? Thanks!

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I typically get 8 or 9 bottles from a batch fermented in a one-gallon glass jug. I like the idea of scaling the recipe up a bit and then trying to leave behind as much of the trub in the brew kettle as possible. Leaving the trub behind, though, is the hard part; anybody have any tips on how to...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I use a refractometer...

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

I started with BBS, and that's basically where most of my current process comes from, though I don't use their kits any more. But all this raises another question that's been flitting around in my head. If I were to just do a full-volume mash in one pot, then dump the contents of the mash...

Thanks very much for the clarification!

    1-Gallon Brewers UNITE!

Hi Calichusetts, Can I just ask you to clarify what you're doing in this step? It sounds to me like you take the first runnings and recirculate them through the grain a couple of times, then basically soak the grains for a few minutes in your sparge water, collect second runnings, recirculate...
