Making Traditional rice Wine. Cheap, Fun, and Different

Amazon has gallon glass jars on sale for the cheap. They look nice, and with prime it came to under $8 to my door. Also picked up a small reptile heater to go under it for the winter. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000DDVN7/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20

The Reverend (Avery) ferm temps schedule?

I have an Johnson controls 419 and an STC1000. Both probes can go between a couple folds if styrofoam packing material and the outside of a better bottle. Works well for me.

The Reverend (Avery) ferm temps schedule?

Even at 64 this is going to be a beast of a ferment. This past winter I thought I could ferment a belgian of about the same gravity when my house kept a solid 65. I had a heating system set up in case I needed to get above 75-80. Yeah.... The wort got to almost 90 on its own. Totally crapped...

    Soldering wort chiller

I should clarify as to which kit I was talking about; the one that comes with the torch and propane. It's fine for larger fittings and tuning, but for for 1/2 inch OD thin walled tubing and 3/8 fittings, it was a no go. As for cleaning up clumps of solder, you should be able the heat the clumps...

    Soldering wort chiller

I bought the kit that you linked to to work on some stuff for my brewery. In my limited experience, the solder and the flux it comes with is total crap. Get some solder that has a lower melting point (should be a little thinner than that stuff) and it will be wayyy easier to work with. You'll...

    Cutting a bazooka tube

I went the opposite way. I cut the end without the fitting with a cutting disc and then used needle nosed pliers to crimp the tube back. Worked great.

    automatic watering?

The smallest emitters that I've seen are .5 gallon per hour. I know it gets pretty frigging hot in DFW, but I think 12 gallons every day is over kill. A timer is $20-25 max to go with a drip system and it will do your whole garden.

    Hoegaarden...Let's do this!!!

I don't think a major brewery would be using so much of a flaked product. White wheat would do, which is why they would dough in at such a low temp. Also you can put acids in your mash water and forgo the sour malt.

    ghetto automatic watering/pesticide system

Just look for "patio watering system". HD may have the very same thing. You'll need a faucet adapter, a pressure reducer, however much hose you want, some T connectors and then the emitters. If you google "drip irrigation" you can find out all the info you need.

    ghetto automatic watering/pesticide system

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0019FLZKO/?tag=skimlinks_replacement-20 This is a really basic kit. The line it uses a a quarter inch. I used " yard staples" from HD to keep the hose right on the ground so that the grass can be cut and people font trip on it. Thinking back, HD actually sells...

    ghetto automatic watering/pesticide system

I'm out of town a lot so I got an automatic system that hooks up to an outdoor spigot. I think it the cost was around 25$ on amazon. Works like a charm.

    Corn ale anyone?

Around here the mountain folk malt their own corn so that they can mash it with 100% corn. They're not making beer though...
