Quick disconnect temperature sensor for BCS460

I'm using banana plugs on the temperature sensor leads. http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=104&cp_id=10401&cs_id=1040115&p_id=2801&seq=1&format=2 And binding posts on the control box. Each post can be unscrewed from the wall plates, and installed into a drilled hole in the...

    diy 4 tap kegerator tower...

Flat surfaces (like the box) can use standard straight shanks, like this: http://www.micromatic.com/draft-keg-beer/taps-faucets-pid-4331AS.html To mount directly on round surfaces, use tower shanks: http://www.micromatic.com/draft-keg-beer/taps-faucets-pid-4329AS-3E.html I used these on...

    Flying cooler

Any rules about checking alcohol are from the airlines themselves. Those that I've checked require that each bottle be individually housed in styrofoam. United says, "in a Styrofoam-type insert that is molded to the shape of the bottle and completely encloses the bottle." So if its just in a...

2P-Twent-E: the new Brouwerij Boerderij Kabouter

What is your plan for sanitizing the immersion coil for cooling? With the way the coil is attached to the lid, either you will be boiling for the last few minutes with the lid on, or will have to use some chemicals. Or do you believe that adding the lid (and coil) at flameout will be...

    DIY draft tower?

As wildwest said, controllers are pretty easy to wire, but I'm comfortable with wiring. If you are really worried about it, something like this (http://www.midwestsupplies.com/johnson-digital-temperature-controller.html) is plug and play for just a little more than the love controller I used...

    DIY draft tower?

Assuming that your build is based on a freezer, then most likely you will need some sort of external controller to keep what's inside from freezing. Since every freezer and its controller is a little different, it is possible that it could work. Fill a keg half full of water, then put it in...

Anyone Weld their Keggle Handle Holes Closed?

If you haven't cut the top open yet, then cut the bottom open instead. No handles to deal with, and depending on the keg, possibly no weep holes either. If you are using gas burners you may have to weld the old beer in/out opening closed; if electric, then you could use a 2-inch triclamp to seal.

BCS 460 Tell me all about it.

Use an on-off-on switch between the bcs and each ssr. 1st on is "auto", using the switched output of the bcs. The 2nd on is "manual" which uses the 5v constant output of the bcs. Off is off. I'm planning on using a switch like...

    The Jamil Show

You are both right. I must have skimmed over the "replicating Black Butte" part before I responded.

    The Jamil Show

In general, the recipes are included in Brewing Classic Styles, written by Jamil and John Palmer. The shows expand on the book and provide various insights.

I needed npt to npt, and the only ones I found were at mcmaster, part # 7768K26.

Trying to locate a 1/4" NPT check valve

I use that style on my manifold, in the male-female configuration, works great. As far as regular, medium or high, it depends on where you are putting it on the co2 line. Mine are all after the primary regulator, and never see more than 15 psi, so the regular one with a 500 psi max is plenty...
