Hello all, Below is the Black IPA recipe I have been using, my question is does anotone think Cardomon would add anything to this beer, if so should I mash it ground or late addition boil it?? All inputs would help out alot thanks... Mash: 60 min @ 152 10lbs 2-row 12oz victory...

I would have to say either Cascade or Chinook would be the best universal hops they are my personal favorites but the Simcoe's are starting to creep in as well....

I would have to agree that Surly Furious is my Top IPA as well. My new Surly shirts arrived last week and they will be on display at the Great Japanese Beer Festival in Yokohama Japan in 2 weeks.....

Patience is a virtue and unfortunately I have very little when it comes to staring at growthless pots. Oh I will continue to wait.. On Sat I brew a lovely Belgian IPA. Next will be a sour if I can find a good recipe..

I can say that I used to use MO inplace of american 2 row in all my recipes until I discovered Golden Promise. I have a house SMaSH that I keep on that is Golden Promise and Cascade all I can say is that it is like enjoying a good single malt Scotch with carbonation.. Absolutely fantastic..

I have made several Golden Promise @ Cascade SMaSH recipes and I find that when I put 1 to 2 pounds of grain in the oven at like 350 degress for 30-60 minutes I get a whole new kinda single malt scotch effect in the finished product. I can say that the Bitter Promise is definately one of my...

The last time I made this I went with a primary only for 14 days, it was a very nice daily drinker.

Ok then I think I got it, but if I hook up on the out side of the full keg and on the in side (gas in line) on the empty won't it foam alot as there is no dip tube to constict the flow thus just splashing into the empty keg???

Ok this may be a dumb question, but how do you transfer from your kegs on tap to the 3 gallon keg? I only ask because I have never tried and this sounds like a good idea??? Yellow 70 Cooper

I generally don't use the three gallon kegs hat I have they are kind of an off size to use actually.

I just counted, I have four 3 gallon kegs, six 2 1/2 gallon kegs, and twelve 5 gallon kegs and I only have two taps.....

So what I am thinking now is that I will probably run a plate chiller with water ran through an IC in an ice bath. The question now is can I recirculate my Wert this way till I get down to pitching temp?? And yes I will be using my march pump.. Yellow70cooper
