Just brewed this last night, it went a bit long as it was my first time using my new system... but its in the fermenters right now 10gal batch done! The numbers I hit were a bit high, 1.057 sg.
The temp depends on a few things, but you want it around 150ish degrees. You should have it in a bag and act like it's tea, letting it steep in the water for no less than 30minutes
I will be brewing this as the first beer on my new system(whenever that gets in). Hopefully in the next two weeks! I want to bring it as a bribe to my soon to be MiL.
This was the beer I did my very first 10gal batch of! I had to split the batch cause I only have carboys... so I decided on doing a bit of an experiment with it, I added .5oz of cascade for dry hopping into one of the carboys but not the other. Hopefully I did it right!
I've seen people using stainless steel bolts and nuts to let the basket sit off the bottom of the kettle. And you could get a pulley system to hold the basket off the element also... Or get one of the smaller kettles cause they hold it off the bottom cause of a lip. Just a few options
