+1 to the orange stopper in the post above. You can dry the rubber stoppers but they still slide up a bit. With this one you don't have to worry about them sliding up and popping out anymore.
I will be kegging this Saturday morning but have some friends coming over that night and thought it'd be great if I could get this carbed by the night. I've heard of people fast-carbing by shaking the keg and they say you can have it carbed within hours using this method. I've never done this, I...
For me it's the hops that hit the most, so if I'm making a beer that's low on hops like belgian blondes or trippels , etc it will be significantly cheaper than a very hoppy IPA with 8-12 oz of hops. Right there we're talking about 16-20$ difference in the batch price

Does anyone know which current line/brand of compact refrigerators are good for top-side kegerator conversions. I looked around for some instructions , etc, but they all seem to be for models that aren't around any more (including that danby bbl400 or something like that).
I tried brewing with this app a few days ago. It flows very well - I liked how the various steps are organized in those panels. I have a couple of questions though:
1. There's a preboil gravity field there on the brewing panel. It'd be nice if the app would calculate efficiency automatically...
I don't think shocked the yeast by rehydrating - that's very unlikely. As long as you didn't put it in a scalding hot water it will be fine. Might want to wait a little bit longer. Although I generally see the signs within the first 12 hours it's not unusual that it could take longer , like 24...
I wouldn't say I'm intimidated, but never really cared to try. Don't they say that for today's well-modified malts you don't really need to do decoction ?
