    First time brewing question

    Actually, I stand corrected. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f163/foam-235019/

    kegging to early by mistake

    You could consider a re-pitch.

    First time brewing question

7 days primary, 7 days secondary is a good general rule for most beers. Hydrometer readings will verify it if you feel it's necessary. FWIW, I always use a secondary, but I've got a dozen or so carboys. Cleans a beer up nicely for me.

Reusing slurry from dry-hopped IPA. Bad idea?

Did you dry hop in the primary or use a secondary? Sounds like you used the primary. Either way, I'd make a good starter. I just made a 1qt starter from a 1.065 IPA and used it in a 1.093 and it's still bangin 6 days later. Next time I'd consider a secondary for the dry hop.

    A Question About Head...

I'm using the same glasses for four different kegs so I don't think they're the issue as the others are fine. This particular ESB has a great thick head as the others do when it's poured. After a few minutes, it starts to seperate. The head breaks apart into big fluffy chunks and looks odd in...

I'll check out the article. Thanks for the info.

    A Question About Head...

What causes the foam to break up? I force carbonated the keg and it's been under about 11 psi for two weeks. Great head after the pour starts breaking up about 10 minutes later. It's been doing this since the first glass a week ago. Wouldn't think the glasses are dirty (they're put in the...

At a loss... 1 keg foams, the others don't

Yep. The poppet was stuck and the QD couldn't open it properly. The restricted opening changed the flow of the beer. If you get real curious, look up Bernoulli's principle.

At a loss... 1 keg foams, the others don't

I could see that. Turns out it was my poppet so thanks to Brewfat. I disassemble and clean my faucets every Sunday. I went a month once and it was nasty. Could be because my fridge is outside in South Florida, but I didn't realize it was so important until I saw the mold on the piston...

At a loss... 1 keg foams, the others don't

Changed out the poppet. Seems to have improved a bit but still have some foam in the line. Keg is a bit warm after the work so I'll let it cool back down and check again. If that doesn't work I'll change to a different line in case the QD isn't working correctly. Glad the other kegs are...

Good idea. I'll give that a shot. Thanks.

At a loss... 1 keg foams, the others don't

I've got a fridge with 4 faucets. I've been using it for about a year now with no problems. I purchased another used keg and rebuilt it. I've used this keg twice now. The first time an ESB was pouring all foam. I transferred to another keg and now it's fine. Just kegged and carbed an IPA...
