    Head count of active homebrewers

That was a great Ale! I tried to find it here locally in the states about a year ago and sadly it was no longer available! A colleague of mine from the UK gave me my 1st bottle, I beleive it was made with black treacle. Vinny D

    Spring Water vs Distilled Water

Agree, all the minerals were add during the mash for the production of the extract, adding back RO water or Distilled water is best for extract based brewing. Using spring water will work but, it has a mineral content that could affect the final product. Vinny D

How long is your brew day?

I'm at about 7 - 8 hours with all the prep and clean up. I like to get all the water minerals, malt and hops measured the day before. This last batch I loaded the water in the mash tun the night before brew day and set the timer so it was ready to mash in when I got up. Vinny D.

    Force carbonation

I've done that, 10 - 15 min and your good to go! lately, I've been lazy allowing the keg to sit for a few days at pressure to carbonate, seems to come out ok, no rush. for me it's more about the process than the product, so waiting works. I do have a 10 or 11 ft line coiled at the top of my...

Using AI to design beer labels

I asked for an American pale Ale and it gave me just that, a ballpark pale ale! I do see utility for those who don't create their own recipes or are just learning how to create a recipe and want a sanity check. I'm not sure if I would use this tool only because, I enjoy the process of creating...

I use Beersmith 3 and Bru'n Water on a PC. I start with RO and build my water for each style I brew. Vinny D.

    Force carbonation

I agree, 30 psi is way out. @puzx, just look for a forced carbonation chart on the net and you will find many of them. It will provide the temperature and pressure requirements for a given target volume of CO2 dissolved in the beer. lowering the temperature will increase the solubility of...
