Brewers are a social bunch and absolutely love to introduce new people to the hobby. I understand you may feel intimidated at first but can guarantee that everyone will be more than welcoming and you'll learn 10x faster as you would on your own.

Once argued with a waitress that the raspberry ale she brought me was not the stout I ordered. Fortunately I am easy going and just tried my hardest to down the light colored raspberry ale. It tasted and looked exactly like the raspberry ale that a friend had ordered.
