    agree. it sounds like you used to much priming sugar. i have never had that issue with this beer.

    so i made a 12 gallon batch this time. i used the recommended and tested true California ale yeast in one carboy. and an Irish ale yeast in the other. anyone tried this before? i just thought an Irish red should have an Irish yeast? ill try and post the results.

    why add hops to starter?

    can hops skunk a starter. i thought the sunlight and skunking refered to the sugars and sunlight

    Can't wait. The ABV is low but I think its due to I was half a pound short on the wheat. Taste test was good and can't wait to try it in a few weeks

    The 5 gallon batch a success and delicious. 10 gallon in the carboys now. Just doubled the recipe as per beersmith. The foam blew off my bubbler lol caught it in time I think. Well know in 3 more weeks. Wish us luck
