Totally building an electric biab system

You are correct, that is the exact fitting that I used from brewhardware. I have taken it off once or twice since installing it and I have not noticed any deforming of the pot at all. I would think you would have to crank it down pretty tight to deform the pot. It seals great and was the perfect...

52 Qt. Coleman Xtreme mash tun, capacity question

I used to mash in a 52qt Coleman Xtreme. The biggest beer I made at that time was a 10 gallon Kölsch. I did a batch sparge at the time, but it was 22lb of grain with 8 gallon infusion and then 8 gallon sparge. 8 gal is only 32 quart but I recall that it was pretty full, I think you could...

Totally building an electric biab system

Thank you, I appreciate the comment. I just worry the weight of the 50ft stainless steel coil might be too much for the element or start torquing the weldless TC connection too much. Either way I would like a shorter more condensed coil or maybe just think about a counterflow chiller. I have...

Totally building an electric biab system

Well as with many of us, a bit of life happened and it was not until a few weeks ago that I could finally brew on the new setup. Brewed up a session blonde ale, and it was probably my smoothest brew day ever. Roughly 16 minutes to go from 63F to 150F to mash in, and another 16 minutes to take...

    Spruce tip beer hops

Nice! I also got my El Dorado/Spruce from Chilliwack Hop Farms. I got my second batch of Cascade/Spruce from Northwest Hop Farms. Both are fantastic hop producers. Good luck with your Spruce IPA.

    Spruce tip beer hops

I used a total of 4oz (measured at 15AA by the producer) spread through the boil and dry hop, calculator shows it at roughly 55 IBU. Just right for an IPA for me. .5oz @ 60min .5oz @ 30min .5oz @ 10min .5oz @ 0min 2oz dry hop for 2 days Here is a link to my recipe at Brewers Friend if you want...

I suck at bottling from a keg

I had a horrible time filling bottles from kegs as well until I finally built a very simple counter pressure filler. Now I can fill with zero foam, really zero. Looks just like "sweet tea" I basically followed the directions here...

Inkbird Giveaway for New product IBS-TH1 Plus Thermometer & Hygrometer

Canada. I would use this to track and graph temperatures in both my keezer and fermentation chamber to see how they are affected by the ambient heat of my garage. Great looking product again!
