Well I'm only 19 days from when this beer used to be water, hops, grain and yeast and I can already see this beer being one of my best. For the people who keg - when does this beer peek? I'm hoping to serve it on March 19. That's only 30 days from brew day and just under 2 weeks in the keg.
This is a great beer. I made it as is and not sure if I'd change anything. Just threw Ed's IPA into the bubbler (however I did mod that one a bit). Cheers.
Folks - just a comment and a question. This stuff is great still after 3ish months in primary & secondary. I added 1 can of apple juice concentrate to carb in bottles and by my calculations I'll have roughly 2.4-2.5 vol. I've read lots about pasteurizing while in the bottle after the carbing is...
Question: I pitched 10 days ago from a 1L starter at 1.054 and 11 days later (fermentation seemed to be done in 3-4 days) I'm only at 1.021. Any idea what might have happened? I didn't do anything strange outside of the grains being crushed for 11 days before mashing. Mashed at 156 and stayed...
I'll have to try less if I ever do this one again. Some people say the corn would lend very little to the flavor of the beer as an adjunct but I feel like I'm most definitely picking up on the corn. Thanks.
Made this and has been in bottle for 2.5 weeks. Carb is perfect but the flavor (for my taste) is a bit too strong on what I think is the corn. Will the corn flavor mellow over time?
