I would maybe adjust the angle on "Eternal" and "Student" in the top one. It's a bit sharp, which makes it a bit difficult to read. Perhaps a more gentle arch would work. Bottom one looks good.

Bumping this thread... I brewed a batch of Northern English Brown Ale, and it turned out great, except for the poor head retention. Just checked my local water report and it lists a PH range between 6.91-7.77. I didn't use any sugar adjuncts; can't thing of anything else that could have found...

Are those grain or partial grain brews you guys are getting that low? Mine was extract and I got it from 1.056 to 1.008 (which is what I was aiming for). I imagine you'd have to do a long, low boil to get it super dry, no?

Yup, that's it! Sorry you had to search. I found myself sniffing my airlock every chance I got during the first couple of days of fermentation. The smells it gave off were so good.

Has anyone else brewed a saison and thought, "Wow. How does the yeast do it?" I bottled a batch of saison on Monday and drank the half bottle I ended up with at the end. And I just can't believe a bunch of yeast can produce that sort of flavor and aroma. I've had saisons before, so I know how...

Howdy folks. I debuted my first PMB* batch of beer - a Northern English Brown - on Saturday at my brother's college graduation party and it was a huge success! I was really excited that folks not only liked it, but called out different flavors that I was going for without having been told...

How do you get those rays with the gradient? I've seen lots of labels that incorporate some sort of lines or rays coming from the center (usually they're straight...I like that yours are wavy) and I'm descent with Photoshop but don't know how to make them? Is it an Illustrator thing?

I second Untappd. Great app. Love getting badges for beer-related accomplishments.

Also, just a thought...what about moving the QR code on the back label? Maybe replace the bottom spade with the QR code. Something about its current location just seems a bit off. Also, the bottom spades should be upside down, I think. Most playing cards do it that way. Otherwise, great!

I dig. I actually liked it with the skull, too...though it did look more appropriate for whiskey than beer. But this one is better.
