Saison with spices and apricot puree? Ideas?

FWIW, I brewed a low-gravity Saison with Pilsen, some oats, and some table sugar. I wanted it to finish dry. Using exclusively 565, pitched at 68, let it rise naturally, then I added heat until we got to about 85 after a week or so. Went from 1.035 to 1.002. What kind of temperature are you...

South Jersey/Philly Group Buy... ROUND 17!

Native, I know I didn't get back to you last night, had a minor emergency that precluded responding to your email. I'm fine getting it, or if any of these fine gentlemen would be a more convenient arrangement for you, that's fine too. Just let us know. (I work in southern Wilmington and that's...

    Brewhouse CIP

Basically, they have a system of tanks, mixing vessels, valves, and pumps that move a bunch of caustic solution (PBW is one example) through all the lines. The benefit is that you aren't moving equipment; neither the cleaning skid nor the production skid moves anywhere. Hence, clean-in-place...

What do you love/hate about your LHBS??

Another one here for Barry's in Philadelphia. He's always happy to help with recipe suggestions. He can be a little grumpy, but he's an ex Marine, what do you expect? :) Plus they're moving the store closer to me in the near future, so that's cool. The two guys taking over the business are...

Keep the Cascades? Or go all Calypso?

Sounds great! I just bottled my Calypso IPA last weekend, so it needs another few days before it's ready. I'll be sure to report back. Can't wait. Thanks for the update!

South Jersey/Philly Group Buy... ROUND 17!

Since the tax applies to Acids, I think this wouldn't be affected. Which is funny because StarSan biodegrades and Iodophor is nasty.

South Jersey/Philly Group Buy... ROUND 17!

I've used them both and yes, they're basically the same. FWIW (not much), this time I'm ordering just Pale and I plan to use it for everything (starting with the house PA).

    Philadelphia Bottle Shops

I'll second the Foodery. It's near my place and nearly impossible to go by without stopping in. They have their beers arranged roughly geographically, so it's easy to find what you want if you have an idea of what you're looking for.

Dude I have like, three small containers of Irish Moss, you can have two of them if you want. Hate to see them go to waste.
