Nate, From what I understand, the burned part was the adhesive. It seems like the adhesive corroded the connections and caused problems. it appears that my connections are in very good shape. If you replace the wire, do you add new adhesive??? won’t the new adhesive just melt again??

I finally decided to resurrect the brewie and thought a thorough inspection + fan mod would be a good place to start. my B+ was one of the later models produced with “upgraded” wires (at least that’s what Brewie told me) so I don’t know if this warrants me re-doing the current wiring.... I...

I feel like this is a stupid question.....but I am going to ask it anyway. Is the fan mod as straight forward as Buy fan...

    BruControl Uniflex: Automation For All

@BrunDog is changing the game in this department. Great to read an independent thread with such high regards for the new system. I’ve never done small circuitry before, so it was a daunting task to build my own setup.

BruControl: Brewery control & automation software

@BrunDog I will be hitting you back up about this so I can replicate your 2V system. This looks great!

    What's in your fermenter(s)?

5 gallons of Heady Topper and 5 gallons of Zombie Dust. Can’t wait to get these kegged up.
  7. Tim H

    So who's brewing this weekend?

Zombie dust and lagunitas little sumpin clone. Should be a quick turn around in case I finish the other two kegs on tap.

That statement I can get behind. Brewie was fatally flawed. cheers

I wouldn’t say it was an issue for profit off the machines, they just failed to create a product ecosphere. Brewie was a one time sale, then they never saw another dime of revenue. Pico was smart trying to require pico packs, but it didn’t really meet the modern brewers “style”. Companies don’t...

Yess, it caught my attention. I am interested to see how much it costs, and more importantly, what it would take to automate! I wonder what I could do with two of these.......

Hate to burst your bubble.... Air-powered engines already exist..... and here is a sweet History Channel video about it haha. I would disagree that automated brewing doesn't exist because it isn't reliable, it doesn't exist because the profitability just isn't good enough. Complicated...

I saw the Anvil Foundry at my LHBS this weekend and thought it was halfway decent for the price. Double-wall construction with an external pump and no stupid gaskets to mess around with on the grain basket... I love my grainfather but the platform hasn't changed in the last 10 years. I...

Dry hopping-Removing bag vs risk of oxygen exposure

Hops tend to leech all of their oils into the beer within 48 hours un-bagged. You don’t get much added benefit beyond that point. Worrying about taking the first bag out isn’t worth the trouble in my opinion. I almost exclusively brew juice bomb IPAs and just add hops in loose to the conical...
