Should New Breweries Have A Dump Fund?

I operated a startup brewery putting about about 2000bbl a year for the past two years. As I am young and don't have the funds for such a venture, I was signed on as a head brewer. The ownership did not understand the finer points of beer and its flaws, nor did the distributorship (in our state...

Beers You Want to Like... But Don't

Pepper beers because of the heartburn, most spiced beers because most are too heavy handed. If I can tell you what you've used, you've used too much. I really want to like wilds, but there is just too much funk usually. It tastes like over-ripe fruit.

Shameless Rants and Confessions of an Aspiring Pro

Very cool on the course. I feel like I catch a lot of flack for my lack of professional training. There seems to be a bit of a Siebel fraternity among the GA brewers. I suppose I should mention our Atlanta presence will be limited :drunk: We cannot supply such a large city fully. We will be...

Shameless Rants and Confessions of an Aspiring Pro

Strawn sounds familiar :D Yet again I have abandoned this thread. Things have been very busy 70+ hour work weeks for the past 3 months. I produced nearly 20,000 pints last week alone. Augusta has proven a very fertile market for us. I tried to post a video, but can't seem to remember how to...

Georgia Monster Mill MM-2 with hopper and base

Got my hands on an MM-3 and don't need this MM-2 anymore: It is a standard MM-2 with base and hopper. $130+shipping. I am not willing to negotiate price. I would rather keep it than sell lower. Probably ran 2000lbs of grain through it and never had a problem. Very consistent crush. You...

Georgia Stainless Junk for sale (Blichmann beer gun, cold plates, ect)

Sorry for the delay, handing it now :tank: Beer gun is heavily used. I haven't tried filling since I switched to all sanke. She works, but I prefer the counter pressure myself. PM'ing the first request for each item in this thread. Both plates are the same width and length, the 7 pass is just...

Shameless Rants and Confessions of an Aspiring Pro

Have been waiting on boiler and glycol plumbing all month. It started this week. We hope to be online by next week.

    600g mash tun feasibility?

Truthiness. All things to be considered for sure. Is the smaller tank steam jacketed? If only it was glycol jacketed, it looks like a great yeast-brink. That looks like floor drain grates beside it. Perhaps another little score.

    600g mash tun feasibility?

I don't see why you couldn't use it as a BK. The only trouble I see with it is separating the hops (and I'm not a fan of DIN). I am unsure of the size of the brewery you are shooting for (brewpub or production facility) if you have the space in the building for a whirlpool tank it seems like an...
