    The stupidest comment on your beer

    My favorite was to a guy that didn't drink much beer... I mixed a little of the morning's (COLD) coffee into just a touch of cold water. He tipped it up and made a funny face....I started to laugh and point at him when he said "SMMOOOTH" The grin fell from my face. :confused:

    Plastic Fermenter THREAD cleaning and general technique

    exactly. I use a regular beer bottle for my 5 gal batches. (usually its one I'm enjoying while the wort is cooking) I store it with my fermenter...then check gravity on it instead of getting into my bucket. Its usually very close to the actual gravity.

    I don't like to get into my fermenter in any way...I use a satellite test bottle. my experience shows me its pretty darn accurate.
