    Chili Pepper Beer

I am at work now, but I'll try to remember to post the recipe tonight. My recipe has a nice balance between the sweetness from the mango and the heat from the habanero pepper. It is more of a long, slow heat on the finish, and has very little "pepper" flavor. (which is what I was going for.)...

    Chili Pepper Beer

I make a mango habanero pale ale that is a hit with people who are fans of spice. After brewing it a few times I've settled on 6 whole peppers per 10 gallons (or 3 peppers for 5 gallons). This gives a nice amount of spice, but still makes a drinkable beer. I pull about 1 liter of wort from the...

BrewFest at Mount Hope Homebrew Competition

Received my scoresheets today. Got some really productive feedback. I didn't place at all, but it looks like I pretty much placed fourth in every flight I entered. :rockin:

BrewFest at Mount Hope Homebrew Competition

I dropped off three entries for this on Friday. Entered an IPA, Bohemian Pils and a cherry/honey wheat. I'm not planning on attending, more interested in the feedback from the judges. Good luck with your entries and have fun at the brewfest. I have heard really good things about it! Theo

    Serving statoin build proposal

Hey there. I recently finished a build (kind of) similar to this. https://www.homebrewtalk.com/f51/calling-krute-313909/ It's the same basic concept you are thinking about, only with the coffin-box and standard faucet instead of a picnic tap. I'm having a bit of trouble envisioning how...

    Calling it a "Krute"

I tested the drip tray under a dripping sink faucet and in the "closed" position it actually holds drips pretty well. Just to be safe I am going to sit a long, shallow tupperware container on top of the keg directly under the drip tray to catch any drops that make it through. I took advantage...

    Calling it a "Krute"

I think I am going to go with your advice and pick up one of these: http://www.lowes.com/ProductDisplay?partNumber=317902-11713-QP-22&langId=-1&storeId=10151&productId=3126573&catalogId=10051&cmRelshp=req&rel=nofollow&cId=PDIO1 I'll just have to cap the pvc drain it comes with. Thanks for...

    Calling it a "Krute"

The contraption and I will be at the ABC Homebrewer's fest in May! I didn't see the Homebrewers ball until you mentioned it, but it looks neat. I'll have to add that to the list for next year.

    Help me with off flavor

:drunk: That makes perfect sense. Thanks for the input!

    Help me with off flavor

So a few weeks ago I brewed my ESB recipe. It's a pretty straightforward recipe and I have brewed it multiple times without issue. Anyway, I got distracted, overly confident, and ahead of myself and without even thinking ended up doughing the grain into the (preheating) mashtun waaay too early...

    Calling it a "Krute"

Wow. Didn't even consider that. The pan and towel are both good, viable options. Maybe i'll grab a bag of ice this weekend and test to see what kind of condensation to expect. Thanks for the input! :mug:

    Calling it a "Krute"

Thanks, I'll check that out! $5 is definitely more in this projects budget! :mug:

    Calling it a "Krute"

Thanks! Keep in mind that the 32 gallon can is just a little too small for three pin locks because they are fatter. Rubbermaid does make a larger size brute though... That may work.

    Calling it a "Krute"

Yup! Got it on clearence for 6 bucks!

    Calling it a "Krute"

I decided not to install a drain. With 3 kegs and co2 in there it is a very tight fit so I think a 20 lb bag of ice will be more than enough to fill the can. I figure I can lift and dump that pretty easy with a second person. This will be used inside for the wedding and the risk of leaks was...
