    Coffee Blonde?

After having Stone's Master of Disguisse, their blonde stout and a gluten free coffee pale ale that was really surprisingly good I got to thinking about my next brew I wanted to do. First I thought about a real hoppy, dry-hopped blonde ale but then a friend at a coffee roastery pitched the...

Will a new batch fermenting heat up my secondary?

ok I'll check the gravity when I get home on the IPA but to dry hop don't I want the beer cooler? as in 70 degrees as the warmest? also what I should've asked originally, will heat be expelled outside of the primary? or will the plastic bucket contain the heat from fermentation inside?

So I brewed a pale ale the other day and I have plans to throw some peppers in once I rack to the secondary (highly influenced after having Habenero Scuplin). My initial idea was to de-seed and de-vain 3 or 4 jalepenos, freeze them, put them in a grain bag and drop into secondary for the...

Johnson control won't rise to desired temp

for now the johnson control is staying at 68 SP-68 Df-1 my apartment is at 70 my roommate and I think it dropped so low because the chest freezer (7cubic yards) is just small so when the temp rises too high and the freezer kicks on it just drops the temp way low really fast

Johnson control won't rise to desired temp

hey so I'm having yet again another problem with my Johnson control, so I set it to be at 66 and left for the grocery store, I came back and it reads 51, I even put a thermometer inside and that read 55 as well, I opened the chest freezer in hopes of the temp rising to what my AC thermometer is...

    Defective Johnson Controll!

I purchased a Johnson A419 brand new from a local homebrew store and I had my Belgian sitting in there (new chest freezer as well) with it set at 74 with 1 degree of differentiation. One day the display showed nothing and it alarmed me but it came back and another day it dropped from 62 to 52...
